The Avidity sequencing advantage for genomics research
2:00 – 3:00 pm
North Campus Research Complex
Element Biosciences has reinvented DNA sequencing with the introduction of the AVITI system. By integrating multiple error-reducing and cost-saving technical advances, the AVITI system is uniquely able to provide both higher quality data and industry-leading costs for a benchtop system. Low run costs and new operational flexibility features open the door to faster on-demand sequencing of exomes, genomes, and trios at any project scale. Separately, higher precision and lower indel errors offer advantages for variant calling across an array of applications and research focus areas relevant to human health and disease. Finally, the unique strengths of avidity sequencing technology, including lower duplication rates and the ability to sequence longer insert libraries, translate into concrete advantages for experimental design, data mapping, and analysis. Isaku Tanida, Element Assoc. Director of Product Management, will share case studies from cancer, rare disease, metagenomics and other research focus areas to highlight how the AVITI System is providing new options for obtaining reliable genomic data with faster turnaround times and at lower cost.
Unlocking the efficiency of your core lab with Eppendorf epMotion automation
3:00 – 4:00 pm
North Campus Research Complex
Working in a genomics core involves a wide range of workflows that, when performed manually, require many tedious, time-consuming, and repetitive stress-causing pipetting steps. From mind-numbing normalization and pooling tasks to complex nucleic acid/protein extraction and NGS library preparation workflows, protocols performed in a core lab frequently involve vast amounts of liquid handling. Why continue to perform these liquid handling tasks manually when you can automate them with an Eppendorf epMotion automated liquid handling solution? epMotion lab automation improves accuracy, precision, and reproducibility, and provides higher throughput for your clients with less strain and hands-on time for your staff. Hear not only from Eppendorf automation and application specialists, but from current MWACD members about how utilizing epMotion automation in their core labs improves daily working conditions for their technicians and lab results for their customer.
A new era of core lab sequencing with the G4
4:00 – 5:00 pm
North Campus Research Complex
When it comes to sequencing, users have a choice: pay a high price to get data right away, or wait to pool their samples on a larger run to get a better price. To address this issue Singular Genomics developed the G4 Platform, an innovative benchtop sequencer that leverages a novel 4-color Rapid sequencing by synthesis (SBS) chemistry with advanced optics and fluidics engineering to provide single-day turnaround times across all applications. By combining lower reagent cost, fast run times and the flexibility to run up to 4 flow cells, with 16 independently addressable lanes, the G4 Platform enables highly efficient laboratory operations and huge cost savings.
